Recently, Sichuan University successfully prepared rubber nanocomposites
containing uniformly dispersed graphene and graphene isolation networks.
Relying on the platform of the National International Joint Research Center for Polymer Materials and Engineering, Sichuan University has established an international cooperation project with Italian research institutions in the research of graphene composite materials, and proposed new methods for ultrasonic exfoliation, latex mixing and in-situ reduction in view of the technical problems such as the difficulty of graphene dispersion in the polymer matrix and the difficulty of large-scale preparation of polymer graphene composites, and prepared rubber nanocomposites containing uniformly dispersed graphene and graphene isolation networks.
The application potential
of graphene for rubber composites was developed.
The graphene rubber composite prepared by this technology has excellent mechanical properties, high conductivity and gas barrier, and can be widely used in high-quality tires, special sealing rings, high-performance shock absorbers and rubber and plastic composites
