Celanese, Celanese, the acquisition of syngas production plants
from Linde, has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire a syngas production plant
with an annual capacity of 365,000 tons from Linde.
The production facility is located at the acetyl group intermediate manufacturing facility in
Lake Celanesmin, Texas, USA.
Subject to the usual closing conditions and government approvals, Celanese and Linde will complete the transaction

Todd Elliott, Senior Vice President, Celanese Acetyl Product Chain, said, "With the acquisition of this syngas production unit, Celanese will have the ability to supply key feedstocks to the world's largest acetyl intermediate manufacturing facility; Linde is a major supplier of carbon monoxide at the Minghu plant, and the acquisition of the syngas production plant will enhance Celanese's future production efficiency and blending growth potential
