WACKER is exhibiting a new VAE dispersion for environmentally friendly bonding
At the International Coatings Show 2013 in São Paulo, Brazil, WACKER presented two new dispersions based on vinyl acetate and ethylene that can be used as binders for high-quality adhesive solutions
.
VINNAPAS? EP6300 is a VAE emulsion with carboxyl functional groups and high solid content, which has extremely fast solidification speed, strong wet viscosity, good machine performance, bright and tidy film formation, and excellent
mechanical properties.
Its glass transition temperature is between -3 °C ~ 3 °C, which can bond porous or cellulose-containing surfaces well, while carboxyl functional groups also make it extremely strong to bond metal surfaces and aluminum foil
.
VINNAPAS? With a solid content of 71 percent, EP7000 is the highest
WACKER VAE dispersion-based adhesive.
The product has strong adhesion, good water resistance, fast solidification speed and excellent wet tack, so the application range can be from traditional paper and packaging applications to construction and flooring applications
.
At the same time, both new products are well resistant to plasticizers, especially for formulating adhesives with high solids
content but moderate viscosity.
They are also compatible
with other latex emulsions, epoxy resins and water-based polyurethane emulsions.
In addition, they are produced without the use of alkylphenol ethoxylate, so they can be used to formulate environmentally friendly adhesives for a wide range of applications, such as paper labels to plastic bottles, vinyl plastic lamination processes, and construction and flooring applications
.
Other highlights of WACKER's presentation included alpha silane-based hybrid polymers for solvent-free, tin-free adhesives and sealants or breathable liquid waterproofing coatings, high-quality emulsions for wall coatings, and dispersible polymer powders for decorative exterior plastering and self-leveling floor mortars
.
