ECHA recommends that 10 SVHCs be included in the list of required authorizations

Recently, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has recommended for the fourth time that substances on the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) be included in
the Authorized List (Annex 14 of the REACH regulation).

The 10 SVHCs are: formaldehyde-aniline oligomerization product (MDA), arsenic acid, chromium chromate, strontium chromate, zinc potassium chromate, zinc chromate, diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, N,N-dimethylacetamide, 1,2-dichloroethane and 4,4'-diamino-3,3'-dichlorodiphenylmethane, which are prioritized
for their hazardous properties, amount of use, and associated potential exposure to humans during use.

The ECHA recommendations will ensure that the risks of these 10 SVHCs are properly controlled and accelerate the gradual substitution of
these substances by suitable substitutes or technologies.
While recommending the inclusion of these substances on the list of persons requiring authorization, ECHA has also established deadlines
    for each substance.
After that date, the relevant enterprises can only use the substance
within the EU if they are authorized.
Decisions on the eventual listing of these substances in Annex 14 and their deadlines will be taken
by agreement between the European Commission and the Member States and the European Parliament.
