Issue 4, 2017 - Celanese acquires Yili's plastic nylon blending and modification business

Celanese and Nilit announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Celanese's acquisition of Yili Plastics' nylon compounding business, in which the former will acquire the nylon compounding portfolio of the Plastics Division and customer agreements, manufacturing plants, technology and commercial facilities
.
The latter will retain ownership
of its nylon fiber business and nylon polymerization business worldwide, including facilities in Israel, the United States, China and Brazil.
The parties expect to close the transaction in the second quarter of 2017 and will continue to conduct independent business
until the transaction is completed.
Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed
at this time.

Celanese plans to integrate Standing Plastics' nylon compounding portfolio and production capacity into Celanese's engineering plastics business

These include: FRIANYL nylon flame retardant products, NILAMID technical grade products, NILAMID specialty grade product portfolio and ECOMID product grade registered products
