SABIC opens a plant in the Netherlands to produce recycled ring polymers
Recently, SABIC and chemical plastics recycling company Plastic Energy began building a plant in the Netherlands for the production of ring polymers
from the Saudi Basic Trucircle series.
These polymers are made
from mixed plastics and waste plastics that are reprocessed.
The plant is expected to be operational in the second half of 2022 and receives a top-level departmental energy subsidy
from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
SABIC utilizes Plastic Energy's advanced recycling technology, which converts poor, mixed or used plastics that were intended to be incinerated or landfilled into Tacoil, a recycled oil that can be used in petrochemical plants to produce ethylene and propylene
.
SABI will replace Tacon with traditional fossil feedstock to produce new ring polymers
.
