Issue 42/2013 - Syngas to ethylene glycol technology approved

Recently, the pilot research of 1000 tons/year syngas to ethylene glycol complete set of technology of Sinopec's key science and technology development project passed the expert review
organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology Development of Sinopec.

The pilot test of the petrochemical process room of Shanghai Engineering Company has formed 9 key technologies such as ester generation, coupling and hydrogenation catalysts and processes and oxidation esterification, hydrogenation reaction process and product refining, process safety, open-stop and analysis technology, effectively solving the problems of excessive reaction temperature, unqualified products and other problems, developing catalysts with high activity and selectivity, as well as safe, environmentally friendly and energy-saving processes, and have applied for 100 patents, forming catalysts, processes, The patent protection network of key equipment in the field of reactor has laid a technical foundation
for Sinopec to develop the process of syngas to ethylene glycol.
