Issue 43/2014 - Malvern Instruments introduces new imaging accessories

Malvern recently released two accessories for the Mastersizer laser diffraction particle size analyzer series, Hydro Sight and Hydro SV, at IPB 2014 (the 12th China International Powder Processing/Bulk Material Conveying Exhibition) held in Shanghai, China, further broadening the range of
applications of the instrument.

Hydro Sight is an innovative, responsive and practical product

With images transmitted by Hydro Sight, researchers can more quickly confirm the dispersion of sample particles
, whether they measure particle size wetly or dryly.
In addition, if problems are encountered during method development or transfer, users can visually identify problems and provide relevant information
through images.
With these advantages, the product lifecycle analysis process becomes more efficient and less
costly.

Malvern Hydro Sight uses lensless technology to measure basic morphological data, including particle size and elongation distribution, and can measure a wide
range of particle sizes.
It quantifies the dispersion of a sample using a unique "dispersion index" and provides advanced anomalous particle detection to record images of particles of particularly specific size and morphology
.
These images help users identify and infer the root cause
of the biased results.
