Two new chemicals have been added to Norway's priority list

Recently, the Norwegian Climate and Pollution Agency (Klif) has added two chemicals, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) and tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate, to its list
of priority substances for substances of very high concern (SVHC).

D4 is mainly used to produce silicone oil, silicone rubber and silicone resin products with different degrees of polymerization, which are widely used in construction, electronics, textiles, automobiles, personal care, food, mechanical processing and other fields
    .
Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate is a commonly used flame retardant additive
    .

Studies have shown that the two substances mentioned above are bioaccumulative and may harm human fertility, in addition to posing a serious threat
    to the environment.
Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate is currently included in the REACH authorization list, and there is no corresponding requirement
for D4 at the European level.
