    Evonik has launched two new environmentally friendly specialty silica products, the SIPERNAT 2200 PC and the SIPERNAT 22 PC, to replace the microplastics
    in matte products.
    THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NATURAL AND ORGANIC COSMETICS (NATURE) CERTIFIES THE SIPERNAT 2200 PC AND THE SIPERNAT 22 PC AS NATURAL MATERIALS

    SIPERNAT 2200 PC IS A CLEANING PARTICLE WITH A PARTICLE SIZE OF ABOUT 320 MICRONS, WHILE THE SIPERNAT 22 PC HAS A PARTICLE SIZE OF ABOUT 120 MICRONS

    Both products have a microporous structure
    .
    In addition to the cleaning function, this unique structure offers an important advantage over other microplastic alternatives: silica absorbs liquid active ingredients and odors and releases them at specific locations – for example in skincare products
    .

    In the past, scrub products in cosmetics often contained polyethylene and polypropylene particles
    .
    Currently, all leading manufacturers of cosmetics and body care products are working to replace abrasive microplastics
    due to the potential contamination caused by microplastics.
    SIPERNAT Specialty Silica is a cost-effective alternative
