With this achievement, Tianjin Seawater Desalination Institute completed the design, installation, commissioning and technical service of 6 sets of low-temperature multi-effect distillation seawater desalination units, including Indramayu 2×4500 tons/day, Bazidan 2×3000 tons/day, and Longwan 2×3000 tons/day, which were supplied to coal-fired power stations in Indonesia, and successfully passed the third-party (HPTC) inspection

The achievement was formed by the Tianjin Desalination Institute in the completion of the national "Eleventh Five-Year" science and technology support plan project - 50,000 tons/day low-temperature multi-effect seawater desalination technology and equipment development sub-project, before which the low-temperature multi-effect seawater desalination technology has been monopolized
by European and American countries 。 According to Ruan Guoling, chief engineer of Tianjin Seawater Desalination Institute, since undertaking the research of this project, they have taken Zhonghe Seawater Desalination Engineering Company as a research and development base, organized a team of experts to carry out technical research, independently developed a complete set of 7-effect low-temperature and multi-effect seawater desalination technology and equipment, and passed the technical demonstration of the expert group of the State Oceanic Administration
in July this year.
