Issue 49/2015 - Hunan Air Traffic Administration of Ningbo Institute of Materials promotes PEI aerospace applications

Zheng Jian, deputy director of Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the unveiling ceremony of Hunan Institute of Aerospace New Materials Technology, and signed a cooperation framework agreement with Hunan Aerospace Administration on the polysulfide imide (PEI) engineering plastics project, and the two sides will further strengthen the application
of polysulfide imide engineering plastics in the aerospace field.

The cooperation and exchange between Zhejiang Industrial Technology Research Institute and Hunan Aerospace Administration began in April 2015, after more than half a year of exchanges, the two sides plan to jointly build a laboratory in polysulfide imide engineering plastics, complete pilot research through cooperative development, and then implement industrialization cooperation
on this basis.

The newly established Hunan Aerospace New Materials Technology Research Institute focuses on the development of metals and metal matrix composites, graphene and nanomaterials, polymer materials, metamaterials and other industries, and has a strong foundation in the application of polysulfideimide engineering plastics, especially in the field of
aerospace 。 The high-performance resin team of Ningbo Institute of Materials has made breakthroughs in the molecular design, new preparation, relationship between structure and properties, processing technology and industrialization research of thermoplastic polyimide materials, and related projects have cooperated with many enterprises including Juhua Group in polyimide/nylon composites and polyimide powder coatings, and have made good progress
