KBR Receives Contract to Retrofit Ethylene
Plant in Korea On February 22, LG Chem and KBR signed an agreement to carry out technology licensing and basic engineering design (LBED) renovation
of their ethylene plant in Daesan, South Korea.
Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide technology licensing and capital engineering services to expand the plant's ethylene capacity by 230,000 tons per year by adding two new SCORETM SC-1 dedicated crackers and product recovery system improvements, bringing the total capacity to 2.

The project is part of an expansion project for LG Chem's Daesan plant in South Korea, which will enable the company to produce additional high value-added ethylene-derived products
