Recently, the comprehensive utilization project of magnesite beneficiation tailings jointly completed by the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Haicheng Demagne Environmental Protection Technology Co.

has passed the appraisal
of scientific and technological achievements organized by the China Iron and Steel Association.
The project used microbial pretreatment of magnesite beneficiation tailings for the first time, improved the flotation effect, developed an efficient leaching technology with a comprehensive recovery rate of more than 90%, realized the comprehensive utilization of gas, liquid and solid in the production process, and achieved zero wastewater discharge
.
The low-temperature direct leaching separation and induced cooling crystallization process route developed by the project has achieved large-scale continuous production, and the magnesium sulfate products have been tested to meet the national standards

In addition, the project team has further developed the technology of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate to magnesium sulfate monohydrate, anhydrous magnesium sulfate and magnesium oxide, so that magnesite beneficiation tailings can be comprehensively utilized
