Recently, the European Parliament passed a non-binding resolution on di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP), which is widely used as a plasticizer
    in plastic products.
The motion states that the European Commission should not allow plastics containing DOP to be recycled and made into polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products such as shoes and flooring because DOP poses a reproductive system risk
    to workers.

The "non-binding" resolution was adopted by the European Parliament at a plenary session in Strasbourg
    .
The EU Council of Ministers still has to vote on the resolution, and if it is not adopted by a majority, the final decision
will be made by the Commission.
