Bayer opens an office
in Zambia to focus on local agricultural development
through its Crop Science division.

Bayer said it would expand the crop protection market in Zambia to boost the country's food production
.
Klaus Eckstein, Bayer's Head of Crop Science for Southern Africa, said: "We will also seek opportunities
to expand our life sciences business in Zambia.
In
May 2015, Bayer, together with AGCO and other partners, launched the Farm of the Future project
in Lusaka, Zambia.
The project aims to increase farm yields
by developing sustainable food production systems that use African agricultural resources more efficiently.
