WACKER expands silicon metal production capacity at its Holla site in Norway on March 8 that it will invest around €85 million to expand its silicon metal production
capacity
at its Holla site in Norway.
The company will add a world-class production line with an annual capacity, which is expected to be completed
in the first half of 2019.

Rudolf Staudig, President and CEO of WACKER, said: "The expansion of our silicon metal production capacity is an important strategic step for
us to secure the supply of raw materials.
The Holla site now meets nearly 1/4 of our needs, and capacity expansion is a prerequisite for maintaining this ratio in the future
.
"In-house production of silicon metal allows us to free ourselves from the impact of fluctuations in the market price of raw materials, while also ensuring a stable supply
of raw materials when demand is strong.
