LANXESS has announced today that it is expanding its benzyl alcohol production capacity for the global market, with plans to expand the capacity
by approximately 30 percent.
LANXESS' plant in Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany, will undergo a two-phase capacity expansion, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019 at a cost of tens of millions of euros
.
In addition, LANXESS High Quality Industrial Intermediates (AII) plans to expand the capacity
of its production site in Nagda, India.

Michael Ertl, Head of the Business Line Phenylmethyl Products and Inorganic Acids at LANXESS' High Quality Industrial Intermediates business unit, said: "With our two production sites in Germany and India, together with our capacity expansion plans, we are able to meet the growing needs of our customers and serve groups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises around the world
