Issue 7, 2022 - 8μm BOPP film successfully developed

Recently, Sinopec has developed an 8μm biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film, filling the gap in the lightweight development of similar products in
China.

The research results were jointly developed by Sinopec North China Co.

(hereinafter referred to as "North China"), Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry and Qingdao Refining and Chemical Company.
North China gives full play to the advantages of the integration mechanism of production, marketing, research and application, and has cooperated with Beijing Chemical Institute and Qingdao Refining and Chemical Industry for many times to provide on-site technical guidance in terms of process parameter optimization and improvement of additive formula, do a good job in information feedback in the trial process, promote customers to adjust product processing parameters in real time, and solve the problems of red section of finished film in summer, and curved wrinkles on the
film surface of palletizing long and wide products.
After nearly a year of hard work, Sinopec finally succeeded in producing the thinnest recyclable BOPP film
in China with a thickness of only 8μm.

The film can be widely used in cosmetics, agricultural and sideline products, toys, handicrafts packaging, compared with the traditional 10~12μm BOPP film, its transparency is better, environmental protection and cost advantages are more obvious
