Recently, South Korea issued a circular to the WTO Secretariat (G/TBT/N/KOR/592) to amend the implementation order
of the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances.
This revision includes the following aspects: for chemical substances in research and development (R&D), simplifying the notification materials for confirming exemption from registration; For chemical substances used as reagents, the time interval between confirmation exemptions from registration is increased; For joint registration, the method of designating a lead holder was strengthened; Improved procedures and methods for designation of foreign manufacturers/producers; Duplicate items
in the same file are omitted.

The proposed date of approval of the Notified Regulation is approximately 31 October 2015, and the proposed effective date is 6 months
after the notification.
