Recently, there was another death case caused by listeria infection in Italy, and the deceased had eaten Wurstel chicken sausage
    directly raw without heating.

Italy's Tgcom24 network reported that on September 25, an 80-year-old man in the city of Alessandria in the Piedmont region was urgently admitted to the hospital
    .
It was diagnosed that the elderly were infected with listeria and caused meningitis
    .
After being admitted to the hospital, the old man's condition deteriorated rapidly, and he unfortunately died
    4 days later (29th).

After the case was reported, the Italian Ministry of Health, Asl Health Agency, Nas Health Gendarmerie and the local prosecutor's office all launched an investigation to confirm whether the incident was related
to the numerous previous incidents of infection with the Listeria ST155 strain.
If confirmed, this case is the fourth fatal case
of infection with the Listeria squadrier ST155 strain in Italy.

Investigators later learned from relatives of the deceased that the deceased had purchased some Wurstel sausages from a large food company whose suppliers included a company
that sold previously recalled Wurstel sausage products.
At the same time, the family also confirmed to investigators that the deceased liked to eat Wurstel sausage
    raw without heating.

According to previous reports by Italian media, since 2020, cases of
listeria infection have continued to appear in Italy.
According to the Italian Ministry of Health, in December 2021, March and June 2022, there was one death linked to listeria infection in each of the three regions of Italy
    .
In addition, the emergency investigation team found at least 66 cases of infection, some of whom were hospitalized
    .
The Wurstel sausage, produced by Agricola Tre Valli Foods, has been preventively withdrawn from all batches produced before 12 September with batch numbers 1785417 and 01810919
due to its association with ST155 strain infection.
