London-based Itsu restaurant and food chain will remove wild yellowfin tuna from menus by the end of this year , citing concerns about overfishing and the threat to the marine environment, SeafoodSource said on June 2

Itsu said the decision stemmed from a report published in February by the Scientific Committee of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), which showed that the Indian Ocean yellowfin tuna population is overfished and that fishing needs to be reduced by at least 30 perce.

Itsu, which operates 70 restaurants and food outlets, said in a release that tuna will be replaced by sustainably farmed praw.
In best-selling boxes and classic boxes, Itsu swaps yellowfin tuna for prawn sushi, and offers takeaway items such as tuna salmon platters, sushi sashimi platters, and mo.
