I am currently buying from a company in Vietnam, but I am looking for a better deal.
I want to buy 15-20 40-foot containers of Chinese tilapia every month.

This shows that although some governments and non-governmental organizations have helped to establish a domestic tilapia industry, the demand for Chinese imports is still continuing.
For example, Société d'élevage et de Distribution de Poisson (SEDP) was established in 2014 to raise tilapia in cages in two freshwater lakes.
However, due to the lack of locally produced feed, the production has been difficult to increase.
The cooperative was forced to import feed from Ghana, increasing costs.

The federal import tax on tilapia arriving in Côte d’Ivoire is 10% of the cost of the container and freight.
Despite being located in the Atlantic Ocean, Côte d’Ivoire imports 250,000 tons of seafood every year.
In the past few years, the local tilapia production has been stable at 3,000 tons.

The coast of Côte d’Ivoire has a population of 24 million and has always been an important market for Chinese tilapia exports to Africa.
However, local efforts to expand production are difficult to replicate the successful experience of Chinese tilapia farmers, who benefit from government funding support.
Most tilapia in China is produced within a short shipping distance from major international ports such as Guangzhou and Haikou.
