BACKGROUND: Various serological markers, such as antiglygin 2 antibodies and anti-brewery yeast antibodies, are reported to be used in diagnosis of Crohn's diseaseAt present, it has been suggested that antibodies against Crohn's peptide 353 (a newly proposed serological marker) are more useful in Japanese adults than anti-yeastTherefore, this study aims to test in childrenmethod: Researchers at 12 pediatric centers in Japan collected people under the age of 17 including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, other intestinal diseases or people with good healthThree serum markers were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorption testresults: 367 subjects were selected, including 120 Crohn's disease, 148 ulcerative colitis, 56 other intestinal diseases and 43 healthy subjectsIn Crohn's disease, anti-Crohn's disease peptide 353, antiglycem 2 and anti-yeast concentrations (median sepsis 2.25, 3.0 and 8.9 U/mL) were significantly higher than ulcerative colitis (1.1, 1.9 and respectively) 3.4;P 0.001), other intestinal diseases (1.1, 1.85 and 2.95; P 0.001) and a health control group (1.1, 1.7 and 2.8; P 0.001)At 95% specificity, the sensitivity of anti-Crohn's disease peptides (45.0%) was significantly higher than that of anti-glycoprotein 2 (30.8%; P .05) or anti-yeast sensitivity (26.7% ;P .01)conclusion: Anti-Crohn's disease polypeptide 353 has been shown to be more useful in diagnosing Crohn's disease in Japanese children than with the other two markers
