    Follicular lymphoma (FL) is one of the most common types of indolent lymphoma, accounting for 20% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas in Japan and 30%


     

     

    The researchers recruited 60 patients with primary small bowel FL in succession between January 2005 and December 2020 who were diagnosed with partial stage, low grade, and low tumor load at two tertiary hospitals between January 2005 and December 2020, and using an observational wait-and-treat strategy, the researchers examined predictors of progress based on clinical pathology and endoscopic findings


     

     

    The results showed FL disease progression in 12 patients (20%) (mean observation period of 76.


     

     

    This study confirmed that endoscopic findings on the "circumference" of lymphatic follicles in primary localized small intestine follicular lymphoma ≥1/2" and "fusion (+)" were important predictors of the progression of FL in the primary localized small intestine
