Chinese Tier 1 module producer JA Solar supplies high-efficiency photovoltaic panels for Egypt's Red Sea 11MW solar-diesel hybrid power project, the largest power station of its kind in North Africa
.
The installation project was developed
by Masdar in Abu Dhabi.
Together with diesel generation capacity, the installation will reach 14MW
once completed.
Solar PV from four independent power stations provides a large number of power – Marsa Alam, Shalateen, Abu Ramad and Halayeb
.
Located in Egypt's Red Sea region, the project will provide reliable and cheap electricity
for tourism in the region.
Once completed, the hybrid power unit will provide electricity
to more than 25,000 local homes.
