In the spring of 2020, the research team collected blood samples from 2,149 employees in Danderyd Hospital.
These subjects provided blood samples every four months and participated in 23 long-term symptoms and quality of life surveys.
The data of this analysis comes from the third follow-up in January 2021, focusing on people who were followed up for at least 8 months.
A total of 323 (94%) seropositive individuals with no or mild symptoms and 1072 (84%) were included.
Seronegative participants.
The median age of antibody-positive individuals was 43 years old, and women accounted for 83%; the median age of antibody-negative individuals was 47 years old, and women accounted for 86%.
The results showed that 26% of people infected with the new crown had at least one moderate to severe symptom that lasted more than two months.
Among antibody-negative people, this proportion was 9%.Among people infected with the new crown, 8% reported that long-term symptoms significantly affected work, 15% reported that long-term symptoms significantly affected social life, and 12% reported that long-term symptoms significantly affected family life.
11% of infected people have at least one symptom that lasts more than eight months and has a negative impact on work, social life, or family life.
Among the antibody-negative population, this proportion is 2%.
In the seropositive group, the most common moderate to severe symptoms that lasted more than 2 months were insomnia, fatigue, loss of taste and difficulty breathing.

Sebastian Havervall of Karolinska Institutet, said, “Although the subjects have mild infections, a relatively large proportion of people report long-term symptoms and have an impact on the quality of life.
