Food Partners Network News On December 4, 2020, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Industry issued Circular No. 6 on raw food transmission No. 1204, issued the "Provincial Order on The Specifications of Milk and Dairy Ingredients" (hereinafter referred to as "Milk and Other Provincial Orders") and "Food, Additives and Other Specifications Standards" part of the revised notice.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of Article 18, paragraph 1, of the Food Hygiene Law, the standards for the packaging of utensils and containers of milk and dairy products and food products with milk and dairy products as the main raw materials (hereinafter referred to as "milk, etc.") are stipulated in the two regulations of the Provincial Order on Milk and other provinces, and the specification standards for container packaging of other foods are set forth in the Specification Standards for Food, Additives, etc.
On June 1 this year, with the implementation of the Partial Amendment to the Food Hygiene Law, Japan imported a system in which only substances assessed as safe can be used in food utensils and container packaging (the "affirmative list system"), and container packaging such as milk was also implemented.
Therefore, the milk and other provincial orders in the container packaging-related specifications of the standard transferred to the "food, additives, etc. specifications standards", and integrated into the regulations, "food container packaging, such as the specifications of the standard" section.
addition, this modification does not involve changes in specifications and term definitions.
of the specific changes can be found in the Ministry of Health, Labour and Health Notice.
shall take effect as of the date of publication.
