JDR Cable will provide cables for Taiwan's first commercial-scale offshore wind farm

Formosa 1 is Taiwan's first commercial-scale offshore wind farm, developed
    by Taiwan Wind Power Company.

The first phase of the project is already operational, with two offshore wind turbines with a generating capacity of 8 MW
    .
The next phase will add 20 devices with a total capacity of 120 MW
    .

Production of the cables will begin in the fourth quarter of 2018, and JDR will deliver 21 km of inter-array cable, 13 km of outlet cable and another 16 km of terrestrial cable to transmit power from shore to local substations
    .

JDR's state-of-the-art facility in Hartlpoole, UK, is responsible for producing 33 kV cables, which are then shipped to Taiwan for installation
    by Jan De Nul.

The offshore wind farm project is targeted for completion
    in 2019.

Richard Turner, CEO of JDR Cable, said: "Jan De Nul is an offshore installation contractor with over 20 years of experience in Taiwan, so we are excited to work with them to implement our first project
    in Taiwan.

JDR Cable will also provide 26 offshore technicians and 8 onshore technicians to provide cable installation support, cable accessory installation and post-installation testing services, and will provide a range of accessories including cable protection systems
