JinkoSolar will supply 58MW of PV modules to the Isabela Solar Farm in Puerto Rico, which is expected to come online
in August 2016.
Oriana Energy, a subsidiary of the Sonnettix Group, partnered with Yarotek to begin construction
of the Isabela Solar Park in Puerto Rico.
Recently, Chinese solar panel manufacturer JinkoSolar announced that it will provide nearly 580MW of photovoltaic module projects
for the project.
With an investment of $160 million, this Isabela solar project is the largest in the country
.
The annual production capacity is expected to be 125,000MWh
.
Enough to meet the energy needs of 2,000 households and reduce annual CO2 emissions by 95,000 tons
.
The facility is expected to come online
by August 2016.
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the new photovoltaic power plant in Isabella, the developer claimed that the plant was the largest in
the Caribbean.
Although this may not be accurate, since the Monteplata PV farm in the Dominican Republic will have a capacity of 67MW
once built.
However, it is expected that by August, once the Isabela Puerto Rico Solar Farm is successfully connected to the grid, the plant will be the largest operating solar power plant
in the region.
