About two-thirds of people have difficulty walking independently after an acute stroke.
The inability to walk independently can cause stroke patients.
Understanding the factors related to recovery from independent walking is very important for setting recovery goals and discharge plans.
Stroke
In this study, this article uses data from a very early rehabilitation trial (AVERT), a large (n=2104) international stroke rehabilitation trial.
The purpose was to investigate the relationship between a priori determined pre-stroke factors and acutely collected factors after a stroke, and the number of days of independent walking for 50 meters.
Cholesterol diabetes
Avoid the relationship between intervention (A), age (B), and stroke severity (C) with no one to help walk 50 meters or the number of days of death within 3 months after the stroke.

The analysis in this article provides strong evidence for the important factors of independent walking recovery.
These findings emphasize the need for customized treatment plans for subpopulations, especially for patients with hemorrhagic and severe strokes.
