Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a number of well-known motor and non-motor symptoms, including vision problems

Several studies therefore point to the importance of tools to improve the identification, diagnostic accuracy, and management

To date, most tools used to assess visual symptoms are quantitative tests of visual function

In contrast, few studies included self-report data asking people to reflect on their own visual function

    139 eligible articles were analyzed

They found that visual impairment was more prevalent in PD patients compared to healthy controls

The presence of visual impairment results in reduced quality of life (QoL)

    Quality of Life

The significance of this study is that it found that a large proportion of PD patients have visual impairment, which has a negative impact on QoL

A large proportion of PD patients have visual impairment, which negatively affects QoL
