    Recently, JSW Energy, a subsidiary of Indian steel producer JSW Group, revealed that it is planning to take the lead in the construction of 4 MW pilot floating solar projects, and will gradually build 250MW projects
    in the future.

    JSW Energy's managing director said the company plans to gain experience from a 4 MW pilot project and then add 250MW of electricity to internal reservoirs across India to meet the needs
    of its steel facilities and thermal power plants.

    JSW Energy has contracted Gensol, a solar operations and consulting firm, to provide services
    such as design and consulting support.
    The company is currently selecting suitable suppliers
    of solar modules, inverters, cables and floating structures.

    JSW Energy operates 3,140 MW of thermal energy and 1,391 MW of hydroelectric capacity, and plans to achieve 10GW
    by 2020.
    JSW Energy established its wholly-owned subsidiary, JSW Solar, in January to focus on the development of renewables, energy and micro-energy
    , according to documents filed by the Bombay Stock Exchange.

    The co-founder of Gensol Group, a solar operations and consulting firm, revealed that the company is also currently providing design and procurement support services to Discom MAHAGENCO in Maharashtra to acquire up to 250MW of floating solar projects
