Recently, Korean scientists have made a major breakthrough in the research and development of automotive batteries! The newly developed silicon oxygen nanopowder, when used as a cathode material for lithium batteries, can more than
double the mileage of electric vehicles on a single charge.
On March 7, a team led by Dr.
Jang Bo-yoon of the Korea Energy Research Institute announced that it has successfully developed silicon-oxygen nanopowder, which can double the capacity of automotive batteries, and is expected to be mass-produced in January next year, and electric vehicles can travel 500 kilometers
on a single charge.
In particular, due to the use of low-cost silicon materials and induction heaters, the cost is only 30-50%
of that of Japanese competitors.
