NEW YORK, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- U.S. food giant Kraft Heinz Inc. announced Thursday that it has abandoned plans to buy Unilever Inc. for $143 billion.
Heinz said in a statement: "Kraft Heinz's intention to acquire is public at a very early stage. Our intention is to move forward on a friendly basis, but Unilever has made it clear that it does not want a deal.
