Since June 2012, Kunming Airport has implemented three operating modes
: parallel instrument approach, independent parallel departure, and isolated parallel operation.
It is reported that from April 7, 2015, Kunming Airport will implement the independent operation
of dual runways.
Due to the continuous rapid growth of flight traffic, the three operation modes of parallel instrument approach, independent parallel departure, and isolation parallel can no longer meet the development needs of the airport, in order to further improve the operational efficiency and airspace capacity of Kunming Airport, from July 2014, Kunming Airport and Yunnan Air Traffic Control Sub-Bureau began to implement the relevant preparations for the test operation of the independent parallel instrument approach mode of the parallel runway, and obtained the Civil Aviation Administration of China on March 11.
