There are many hazards of static electricity, and the main hazard to chemical laboratories, pilot test laboratories or workshops is explosion or fire
The reason why static electricity can cause explosion or fire hazards is mainly due to the confluence of two factors, electrostatic discharge spark discharge and explosion limit
Case 1
In the kilogram laboratory of a new drug research and development company, when a large number of non-polar fractions were revolved, a fire was caused by electrostatic accumulation and discharge, and a large number of solvents were mixed on site, which caused the fire to spread rapidly and could not be controlled.
50L large reaction flask and rotary steaming flask, because of the large volume and the use of non-polar solvents, it is difficult to conduct static electricity in time and completely discharge, especially the large 50L glass reaction flask and rotary steaming.
Case 2
Non-polar solvents are very easy to generate static electricity during the high-speed rotating operation of the centrifuge, and can accumulate a large amount of static electricity instantly.
Case 3
Use an air pump to extract n-heptane from a 200L iron drum and send it to the reactor.
Case 4
The waste liquid mixed with toluene and methyl tert-butyl ether is put into a 200L plastic bucket, and then loaded into the car

Case 5
The reaction or post-treatment of non-polar solvents cannot use containers that are difficult to discharge static electricity (such as reactors lined with glass enamel, etc.
Case 6
When gas flows at a high speed in a pipe or is ejected from a valve or a gap at a high speed, it will also generate dangerous static electricity like liquids, especially when the gas contains dust, iron powder, liquid droplets, vapor and other impurity particles.
