In order to analyze how the transformation of forest types affects the process of soil erosion , researchers from the Eco-hydrology Research Group of Banna Botanical Garden used soil screening combined with field experiments to determine the rainfall - splash erosion effect and its impact on the soil aggregate scale after tropical rain forests were transformed into rubber forests.
In addition, in order to explore the impact of land use change on plant litter yield and related nutrient cycling processes, the researchers also monitored the litter yield and chemical composition of different forest types for 3 years .
