March 14, 2019 - This year's European Coatings Show will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from March 19 to 21, when LANC will showcase its comprehensive portfolio for the coatings industry. One of the highlights of the demonstration is the use of innovative raw materials for the preparation of water-based systems, including glass fiber slurry, plastic coating, textile finishing and processing, vehicle coating, etc.
LANC's water-based system enables customers in the coatings industry to meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, such as those for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and to develop high-performance products
C3) that meet the needs of modern
applications.
the use of Trixene Aqua crosslinkers to enhance coating system performance
LANXESS' Trixene Aqua series of water-based sealed isocyanate dispersions are excellent crosslinkers and adhesion promoters for water-based coating systems. This range of products improves the chemical and mechanical resistance of coatings and slurry formulations, making them better and more durable in end-of-life applications. Thanks to sealed isocyanate groups, they are more stable than the corresponding free matter and can easily be used to form single-component and two-group dispensers with acrylic, polyester and polyurethane-containing hydroxyl groups.
this is very beneficial in applications such as textile processing. In these applications, the Trixene Aqua BI 220 can be used as a adhesive promoter for waterproof finishing agents for sports and fashion clothing for excellent durability. Similarly, the Trixene Aqua BI 201 can be used as a crosslinker for automotive varnishes, enhancing the anti-peeling and optical appearance.
Witcobond and Trixene Aqua:
's powerful portfolio for water-based high-performance polyurethane coating systems
following Trixene Aqua, LANXESS has introduced a full range of water-based Witcobond polyurethane dispersions (PUDs). For fiberglass pulping, LANC has developed a high-solidity brand with excellent fiber clustering properties in fiber and composite processing and excellent physical properties in end-use applications. For example, the use of the polyester-based polyurethane dispersion Witcobond 374-13 for short-cut raw wire production guarantees excellent integrity and has good adhesion to thermoplastic and thermoo-solid substrates. Combined with LANXESS' newly developed Trixene Aqua BI 202, the system enhances the bonding between the glass raw wire used in advanced composites and various resin substrates.
in many other applications, the Witcobond range can be used in water-based coatings and finishes for hard and flexible substrates. They have anion, cation and non-ion chemical properties, so a variety of pH adhesives can be used. The range includes products with a solid content of up to 60%, dispersions with low or no cosolt solvent content (including N-methyl pyridoxine (NMP)-free), and brand names that do not contain non-ionized surfactants (e.g. alkyl phenol ethyloxygenates (APEO), in particular pyridoxine (NPEO).
