LANXESS uses high-performance plastics to provide lightweight solutions for the drone industry.

LANXESS’ High Performance Materials (HPM) business unit launched a series of high-end material solutions at Chinaplas 2018, including a drone made of short glass fiber reinforced Durethan (nylon 6) propeller.
Due to its balanced material properties, injection molded parts are lighter and have good strength and rigidity.
This material can resist the aging of ultraviolet rays, so it is very suitable for outdoor use.
UAV propellers made of LANXESS plastic have an attractive appearance and long service life.
In addition to wings and propellers, high-performance plastics can also be used for drone bodies and landing gear.

The material helps reduce the weight of the aircraft, making the flight time longer, while reducing vibration and noise.
