Recently, Rosneft announced the discovery of a large oil deposit in the Pechora Sea, with a resource reserve equivalent to 82 million tons of oil
.

The discovery benefited from oil drilling activity
in the Medynsko-Varandeysky region.
Rosneft noted that the discovery proves "the enormous oil potential of the Timano-Pechora region, which will serve as the basis for the company to continue its research and development of the region"
