Elastocoat C is BASF's renowned polyurethane (PU) resin used in pultrusion technology to achieve high performance profiles
.
With the release of the new grade Elastocoat C 6226/107, the product is opening up a range of new application areas
.
"By developing our own new BASF catalysts for polyurethanes and polyisocyanurates, we are now able to fine-tune the reactivity of your pultrusion systems in innovative ways," explains Dr.
Julia Liese, Manager of BASF's Polyurethanes Research Laboratory
Lithium chloride salt-based complexes, combined with special epoxy resins and internal mold release agents, can control the reaction path between PU and PIR, so that separated PU-rich and PIR-rich chains can be obtained at the nanoscale Paragraph
.
As Elastocoat C 6226/107 breaks new ground in temperature stability, it is now recognised by the German FSK – Fachverband Schaumkunststoffe und Polyurethane with the 2019 Innovation Award for Plastics and Polyurethanes
.
Bert Neuhaus, Development Project Manager at BASF, said: "This award recognizes our work and promotes the successful establishment of this new product in the market
.
With the new generation of pultrusion resin Elastocoat C 6226/107, BASF can realize applications that require high temperature resistance, such as electronic coating processes and applications that require a stable modulus over a wide operating temperature range
.
