Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the medical insurance department and relevant departments have in-depth study and comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on poverty alleviation work, earnestly implement the Party Central Committee and the State Council’s series of decisions and deployments on winning the fight against poverty, and continuously enrich the supply of medical insurance and health poverty alleviation policies, and make overall plans.

In February this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized at the National Poverty Alleviation Summary and Commendation Conference that we must effectively consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation and effectively integrate various tasks with rural revitalization to make the foundation for poverty alleviation more stable and more sustainable

On the basis of consolidating the level of basic medical insurance and hospitalization benefits, the state continues to improve the outpatient mutual aid guarantee mechanism, comprehensively establish a medication guarantee mechanism for patients with hypertension and diabetes in urban and rural areas, promote the reform of employee personal accounts, implement outpatient management, and further reduce chronic and special disease patients Burden of outpatient medical expenses

In order to reduce the burden of medical expenses for patients with serious illnesses, the state has continuously improved supplementary insurance measures such as large-amount medical subsidies for employees and serious illness insurance for urban and rural residents on the basis of the fair and inclusive role of basic medical insurance

In the next step, we will fully implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, accelerate the improvement of the medical insurance and assistance system for major and serious diseases, and further improve the unified and standardized medical assistance system on the basis of strengthening the triple system to reduce the burden of comprehensive protection.
