Recently, South Korea's LG Electronics said that the company will actively invest in the robot industry, hoping to make full use of the advancing artificial intelligence technology, and even hope to one day develop complex machinery and equipment to complete the daily tasks
of humans.
LG said in a statement that the company's home appliance division will be responsible for preparing robot projects, and plans to develop various robot equipment
for use with home appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, and air conditioners.
Jo Seung-jin, head of LG's home appliances business, said they will actively invest in exploring the future of smart homes, robots and key components, and strengthen the capabilities
of the home appliance business.
Advances in areas such as artificial intelligence and wireless communications have increased the complexity of devices, allowing them to communicate with each other and complete more complex tasks
over the Internet.
Countries around the world are investing heavily in robotics to serve as cooks, caregivers and laborers to develop new industries or address socioeconomic issues
such as low birth rates or rapidly aging populations.
LG did not disclose how much it plans to invest in robotics or when it will release its robotics products, but it said it is exploring options
by integrating technologies such as driverless and artificial intelligence.
