On March 15, 2022, a research paper titled " Conformational changes of a phosphatidylcholine flippase in lipid membranes " was published in the journal Cell Reports by Researcher Li Long's research group from the School of Life Sciences of Peking University .
Screenshot of the paper
In the cell membrane of eukaryotic cells, the phospholipid molecules in the bilayer are distributed asymmetrically: different phospholipid molecules are selectively enriched on the cytoplasmic side or the extracellular side according to the properties of their head groups
The authors took P4-ATPase and Dnf1 proteins that selectively transport phosphatidylcholine in yeast as representative research objects, put them into nanodiscs containing yeast natural lipid molecules, and analyzed their structures by cryo-electron microscopy.

Li Long is the corresponding author of the paper, postdoctoral fellow Xu Jinkun is the first author of the paper, doctoral student He Yilin participated in all experiments and made important contributions to the research, and Wu Xiaofei participated in the preparation of cryo-EM samples and data collection
