So far, the European Commission (EC) monitoring mission has conducted its third field visit to Khanh Hoa province on illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) and held a working meeting
with the Directorate-General of Fisheries, said Nguyen Quang Hung, deputy director of the General Administration of Fisheries of Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to the VNA, the European Commission's monitoring mission focused on the implementation of the European Commission's advice to Vietnam on IUU
    .
Among them, the focus is on controlling fishing vessels that illegally enter foreign waters; surveillance and surveillance work control, inspection and monitoring of fishing vessels, fleet management; Aquatic traceability, fishing and enforcement and other related issues
    .

In order to combat IUU fishing activities and lift the "yellow card" warning of the European Commission, Viet Nam has issued strict instructions from the central level, such as the Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee for Combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and other relevant ministries and relevant localities have also actively and carefully guided, inspected, supervised and
    guided.

In addition, in accordance with Vietnamese laws and the provisions of the Agreement on Port State Measures (PSMA), the relevant departments of Viet Nam have strengthened and ensured the control of the origin of
imported raw materials fished outside Vietnamese waters.

At the working meeting between the European Commission's Monitoring Mission and the Directorate-General of Fisheries, relevant departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam, relevant localities and various governments provided the European Commission's Monitoring Mission with progress reports and related documents on the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission on IUU, ensuring its transparency
    .

Earlier, when meeting with the European Commission's monitoring mission, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh pointed out that Vietnam has been doing its utmost to implement the recommendations of the European Commission to combat and stop IUU fishing, so as to develop a sustainable, responsible and controlled fishing industry
    .

Viet Nam reaffirms its strong commitment and demonstrates the management's determination to prevent, stop and eliminate IUU fishing
activities together with the Vietnamese fishing community and enterprises.
It is expected that the European Commission Monitoring Mission will continue to conduct on-site inspections and assessments
in Viet Nam over the next six months.
