South Korean cable manufacturer LS Cable has announced that it has won an order for ultra-high voltage cables worth $40 million in eastern India
.
Specifically, Andhra Pradesh Power signed a purchase agreement with LS Cable's Indian subsidiary, which is also the largest order
LS Cable India has received locally.
LS Cable said that the annual demand for India's ultra-high voltage cable market is about $200 million, and this order accounts for nearly 20%.
As the world's third largest energy consumer, India will continue to develop and serve the Indian market
with increasing demand for renovations and upgrades of aging power infrastructure.
An official of LS Cable said: "India-based companies have more than 95% of the ultra-high voltage cable market share in terms of
price competitiveness.
The latest deal will also help the company win more contracts
in India.
