OFS has introduced its GiHCS industrial cabling solution for industrial networks and SC crimping and cutting termination kits
.
The company points out that the rapid adoption of Industrial Ethernet has led to significant changes in factory automation and new requirements and industrial network applications
that require the adoption of industrial communication systems.
OFS claims that high-bandwidth, rugged, and reliable cabling solutions are indispensable
for industrial networks as higher data rates become more widespread.
Fast (100 Mb/s) and Gigabit Ethernet (1 000 Mb/s) data rates require higher bandwidth and real-time, low-latency communications, while the increasing adoption of intelligent electronics, utility-grade rugged IP routers and Ethernet switches is driving IP-based communications
on the production floor.
To meet this demand, OFS now offers its step refractive index HCS (GiHCS) fiber and easy-to-use crimp-and-cut SC connectors
in low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH) cable structures.
With the company's SC crimping and cutting hand tools, technicians can easily learn to install fiber optic connectors
in industrial spaces.
According to OFS, the new platform field technicians only need a few minutes of learning to quickly repair damaged fiber optic cables without messy adhesives or tedious polishing steps
.
According to OFS, the main advantages of GiHCS industrial cabling solutions and SC crimping and cutting connectors include: wide operating temperature range of -20 ~+105 °C; Resistant to abrasion, vibration and industrial chemicals; Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use; High tensile strength; Compatible with fast (100 Mb/s) and Gigabit (1 000 Mb/s) Ethernet; Compatible with the most commonly used GBIC transceivers; No power supply, no epoxy resin, no gel, and no polishing required for the optical fiber termination process; Simple learning curve
for rapid deployment.
