Member Liu Xin: Take a multi-pronged approach to improve the health connotation of food

On March 6, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the members of the agricultural sector, social welfare and social security sectors who participated in the fifth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and participated in the joint group meeting to listen to opinions and suggestions

As an important carrier for maintaining people's health, the food industry has entered a period of in-depth transformation oriented by "nutrition and health"

First, oil, salt, and sugar are demonized, and the "three reductions" lead to new health risks

Second, the research on the deep correlation between food components and nutrition and health promotion is weak

Third, China's current food claim management system has hindered the healthy transformation of the food industry

Fourth, the treasure house of "medicine and food homologous" resources has not been fully tapped, referenced and developed

In response to the above problems, Liu Xin put forward four suggestions

First, two-wheel drive, "minus" and "plus" are parallel to promote the healthy transformation of the food industry

The second is to promote the R&D and innovation of new products based on the nutritional and health needs of the population

Third, consumer education and scientific "three reductions" go hand in hand to promote a balanced diet

The fourth is to improve the food claim management system and promote the orderly development of the functional food industry
