    In response to the presence of confirmed infection groups in different parts of the community or in the industry, the HKSAR Government has earlier provided a one-time new coronavirus test for higher-risk occupations, covering a total of about 500,000 people in residential care homes, taxi and minibus drivers.

    SAR Government said that the third wave of the local outbreak had been severe since the beginning of July , with a sharp rise in confirmed cases , many local cases were at unknown sources and the risk of outbreaks in large communities posed a major health threat to the community and the public .

    SAR Government also said that due to the lack of adequate local trained and experienced laboratory personnel for new virus testing, individual private laboratory service providers had applied to bring in suitable technical staff from the Mainland to provide support for virus testing.
    under section 4 (1) of the Mandatory Quarantine Regulations for Certain Arrivals (Cap 599C), the Chief Secretary for Administration may exempt a person or class of persons from mandatory quarantine if they are confident that they meet certain conditions. A spokesman for the
    pointed out that the relevant technical personnel of companies or organizations providing new coronavirus detection services to Hong Kong were among the exempted persons.

    the seven advance officers of the Mainland Nucleic Acid Testing Support Team who arrived in Hong Kong from the Mainland on 2 August, all had negative results of nucleic acid testing within 72 hours when they arrived in Hong Kong.
