In response to the presence of confirmed infection groups in different parts of the community or in the industry, the HKSAR Government has earlier provided a one-time new coronavirus test for higher-risk occupations, covering a total of about 500,000 people in residential care homes, taxi and minibus drivers.
the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government revealed on the evening of the 5th that as of the 4th, more than 90,000 tests had been carried out, of which 31 samples were initially positive. A spokesman for the
SAR Government said that the third wave of the local outbreak had been severe since the beginning of July , with a sharp rise in confirmed cases , many local cases were at unknown sources and the risk of outbreaks in large communities posed a major health threat to the community and the public .
see this, the relevant departments of the SAR Government have been using the Epidemic Prevention Fund to assist higher risk groups in the community in carrying out voluntary one-time testing for confirmed infection groups in different places or industries in the community since mid-July.
, the scheme now covers staff of homes for the elderly, homes and nursing homes for the disabled, staff of special school hostels, taxi and minibus drivers, restaurant staff, street tenants and staff, and front-line staff in the property management sector.

as at 4 August, three private laboratory service providers providing testing services to the SAR Government have conducted more than 90,000 tests for the above-mentioned group, 31 of which have initially tested positive. a spokesman for the
SAR Government also said that due to the lack of adequate local trained and experienced laboratory personnel for new virus testing, individual private laboratory service providers had applied to bring in suitable technical staff from the Mainland to provide support for virus testing.
under section 4 (1) of the Mandatory Quarantine Regulations for Certain Arrivals (Cap 599C), the Chief Secretary for Administration may exempt a person or class of persons from mandatory quarantine if they are confident that they meet certain conditions. A spokesman for the
